There once was a client with windows update issues, that for all to attempt and to see it would appear that WSUS was broken, but upon closer inspection, not found in a log, was a tiny little warning t’would popup for all:

“Windows could not search for new updates”.
– An error occurred while checking for new updates for your computer.
– Error(s) found: Code 80072EE6 Windows Update encountered an unknown error

Now WSUS wasn’t showing the client error and the clients would only report unable to install with the above error.

Once you:
c:\> regsvr32 MSXML3.dll

Then reboot!

Log back in, then you begin!
Now go to your client and open IE:
type your http or https address:
http://servername/selfupdate
