Let’s start by heating up the oven:
425-450 degrees
What you’ll need next:
2 cups flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons sugar
1/4 cup butter
3/4 cup milk
Let’s get it all together:
Combine and mix the dry ingredients. Dice up the butter and cut in to dry mix until contents looks like crumbs. Mix in milk until dough ball forms.
Flour counter-top and let set for a few minutes. Now knead the dough and then pat out into about 1/2″ thick or a little less. Now it is time to use your favorite cutter to cut your biscuits. Keep reforming dough (and perhaps flouring your counter as you go ) until you have used all your dough. Place the cut-outs on an un-greased baking pan an place in the oven for 10-15 minutes.
This recipe makes approximately 12 biscuits (or if it’s me 10 and 8 make it to the table).
For an added twist you can put in 2 teaspoons of cinnamon and we like to drizzle with honey from time to time.
Viola!
