HTC EVO and Sprint

Here is where I predict alot of troubles for Sprint and the HTC EVO:  Availability!

I went online June 4 and was already seeing that they were out of stock.  Finally after seeing no good updates to this (as in they have availability) I went to a Sprint Reseller who said they didn’t even get a demo in yet.  So I decided I’d go to a Sprint Corporate store a week later to see at least a live demo unit and ask about availability.

The demo unit was all I expected to see and what I’m hoping it can do at a minimum.  However, to my disappointment, they didn’t have any in stock.  Figures.

So, 5 days ago now, I finally decide I’ll just get added to the wait list and get one.  The iPhone killer, the greatest phone that the masses have been waiting for … not a Windows Mobile device, not an iPhone, but an HTC Android loaded Device killer ….

… killing themselves while we all wait and rethink buying a $300 phone/2year plan/$100 a month Unlimited device … that can’t even be ready for us to get in a timely manner.  If I wait to much longer I might just wait to get the phone all together until it’s next revision.  The wait is annoying.  I’m not by any means an impatient person, but I’m actually annoyed right now.

I just called to ask if the shipment planned for today is still planned and if they could check where on the list I might be so we could gadge the wait if any.  The reply was that the rep knew there was a shippment of phones due today but not sure if any HTC EVO’s were going to be in it.  The best part: “We can’t see where on the list you are.  All we can see is when we pull up we have one in stock we call people and as they are added to come pick it up it gives us the next person on the list.”  BS or the truth?  Umm … don’t care … where’s my phone?

Grrrr ……

  1. Another HTC EVO and Sprint post

Okay, yet another post about “out of stock” complaints for the HTC EVO from Sprint. (see my original post here). We are now 9 days into adding to the “list” to receive an HTC EVO from Sprint. The Corporate store is stating that they still have not received shipment of this phone and are still unable to provide anything close to an estimate. The wait list at this store is growing still however no new phones are in still yet. When you go to the site Sprint website (http://www.Sprint.com) and attempt …
